I haven't had time to use Luminar enough to give good comparison but want to point out something about what Skylum has said about Luminar 4. What is "temporary" and how would the software know to separate a change to a recipe from a change you don't want to persist? I'm not even sure when the last time was where I used a button, except to set Curve points, or select a color. The best thing you can do is create comprehensive keyboard shortcuts. So you're expected to upgrade - pay twice - just to get access to the bug fixes and/or a new camera raw profile. My issue with C1P is that they don't fix all bugs with an existing version before moving to the next. you pay nothing to keep the same version number, indefinitely, and included with that one-time fee will be the point updates to a specific version. What do you like and what do you miss?īut. Has anyone here moved from Capture One to Luminar? I'd love to hear your thoughts, please. often-used buttons have tiny icons, browser thumbnail doesn't just show the cropped version, etc.Īny temporary changes to a process recipe gets saved to the recipe (am I doing this wrong?) I know I can just NOT update, but I expect a perpetual license software should come with regular updates and free minor improvements after a few years. They keep charging for updates that I don't think is worth the asking price. Not much difference since I upgraded to a 16" MBP. Performance was a lot better on my old MBA. The Sessions workflow makes more sense to how I organise my files I think overall Capture One is a positive change for me, but I'm not super satisfied with it. I 've been using Capture One since ~2 years ago but I still have Lightroom Classic for my old photos. Most reviews are just comparing it to Lightroom. I'm trying to look for in-depth reviews comparing Luminar 4 against Capture One.
